Completion of the Basic and Family Mediation Training course is recommended but not required.
This course provides an in-depth overview of domestic violence issues and its implication in the mediation setting. Through lecture, discussion, and role-plays, participants will learn to administer the domestic violence screening tool and how to determine whether mediation is appropriate.
Registration Deadline: June 1, 2022. Full payment is due by June 3, 2022.
About the Trainer:
Andrea Palmisano, Palmisano Mediation Services, has been a Virginia Certified general/family mediator and trainer for nearly 20 years specializing in work with at-risk youth, parent-teen mediation, and a variety of restorative justice issues. With a Ph.D. in Psychology, Andrea has worked with families experiencing a variety of domestic violence issues. Besides her mediation and training work, Andrea is a psychology professor at Tidewater Community College.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: We may cancel the training for insufficient registration or inclement weather and will issue all registrants a full refund of any payments made. Cancellation by a participant must be done, in writing, by Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in order to receive a full refund. If cancellation is made after June 1, 2022, the participant will receive a refund less the $75 deposit. Participants who fail to cancel or attend the training (“No-Shows”), will be charged the full amount of the training and will forfeit the deposit and any payments made towards the training.
